Sedona Chapel Station
LEA Architects is working closely with the Sedona Fire District for the design of the Sedona Chapel Fire Station. The station is located off of State Road 179 and sits between the Christ Lutheran Church of Sedona and the Jewish Community Center. In response to this context, the design incorporates a "Friendship Walk" which harmoniously joins the two congregations. The Friendship Walk crescendos at a dramatic gateway to the main entrance of the building at the valley of the butterfly roof above. The entrance sequence incorporates a 9/11 memorial and features the building's rain water harvesting system. The building program includes 3 apparatus bays, a training/community room for public use and living quarters. Living quarters include kitchen and dining, a dayroom, and dormitories. These spaces were meticulously designed to take advantage of the majestic views inherent to the area.
