2008 F.I.E.R.O. Fire Station Design
Award Jurors
Don Collins (chair): Don is a Captain with the Clemson
University Fire Department. He has taught for many year’s in the
University’s School of Design and Building. He has a B.S. from
N.C. State University and a Master’s degree from Harvard
University.
Jeff Harkey: Jeff is Editor in Chief for FireNews.net
and specializes in the planning, design, implementation and
operations of large scale special events. He has worked with the
Olympics and ten super bowls. He is a licensed architect with
his degree from N.C. State University.
Brad Kobielusz: Brad is a Captain with Poudre Fire
Authority in Fort Collins Colorado and has a degree in
architecture from Montana State University.
Blake Redden: Blake is a firefighter on Engine 11 with
the Charlotte Fire Department. He has a degree in architecture
from the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
Jim Zwerg: Jim is an Architect/Facility Manager with the
Phoenix Fire Department. He has a degree in architecture from
